Lanzarote
Lanzarote is the most easterly of the seven major Canary Islands and lies in the Atlantic Ocean only some 100 km (60 miles) from the coast of Africa and 1,000 km (600 miles) from the Iberian Peninsula. The island enjoys an average temperature of 24ºC all year-round due to its advantageous location in the Tropic of Cancer. Once fishing and agriculture formed the basis of the island’s economy but now tourism has overtaken, using the islands natural landscape to provide attractions both historic and contemporary - the Timanfaya National Park (Fire mountain), vineyards, galleries, museums, volcano tours, boat trips, diving, surfing, camel trekking, animal parks and water parks amongst others.
Playa Blanca
Located just 3km away from the villa, Playa Blanca was originally
a small fishing village but is fast becoming one of the island's finest tourist areas. This quiet unspoilt resort has been sympathetically developed so that the centre of the town has retained much of its original charm, whilst providing an array of shops, supermarkets
and many excellent restaurants. Quieter than the other resorts, Playa Blanca is fantastic for families & couples who want to spend the
day at the beach and their nights enjoying fine food at one of
the varied restaurants.
With clear blue skies ,golden sunshine & gentle breeze Playa Blanca is a holidaymaker's paradise. From the coastline there
are superb views of the mountains and the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura across the water & if it's lazy days in the sun you
are looking for, this is the ideal place. Playa Blanca's beaches
are
small but perfectly formed and benefit from having excellent amenities nearby.
